Since completing post graduate studies at Cardiff University in 1976, I've worked in a variety of professional positions in the UK as well as more widely afield in a consultancy capacity on long term business development advisory projects in Poland, Tanzania, Lithuania, Latvia & Japan.

I started my professional business development advisory career with the Wales Tourist Board spending 5 years advising the owners of tourism enterprises on marketing and business development matters.

I then spent 5 years with Price Waterhouse within a business development & marketing unit based out of their Cardiff offices gaining a huge amount of experience and knowledge from working with some of the world's very best companies and organisations from around the world.

I left PW to establish my own business development consultancy practice where for the next 16 years I supported the directors & owners of a broad mix of companies across a range of market sectors to develop their strategies, marketing plans and much more.

For a 3 year period I was Managing Director of a manufacturing company before coming back to consultancy and market research work ahead of turning my whole focus to what I do today which is centred on business coaching, the development of joint ventures and professional speaking.
I have a wide range of business development, strategy and tactical planning experience across the professional service, B2B, tourism, manufacturing and QUANGO sectors in operational, consulting and coaching capacities. My direct knowledge & experience are particularly strong in the areas of: marketing, strategic planning, sales, client care, market entry planning, business planning, decision making, innovation, market research, problem solving, negotiation, people management, time management, communication and the development of joint ventures.

Examples of my practical experience
Over the past 20 years I have provided business coaching & consultancy services to hundreds of clients across Eastern & Western Europe; amongst much else I've prepared marketing strategies for 36 organisations; designed sales plans for 18 organisations; supported in the implementation of 8 company wide management development plans and designed 12 staff appraisal programmes. I have designed & implemented 8 major company wide performance reviews at international & national levels and have designed & been directly involved with the implementation of 46 market research programmes. I have set up 6 staff induction, appraisal & training programmes and designed & supported the implementation of 4 staff development programmes. I have prepared 12 international exhibition strategies and supported their implementation in capital cities across Europe. I have put together 6 direct marketing campaigns and supported in the writing of marketing collaterals and web site presentations for over 20 organisations. I have produced and supported the implementation of 6 international market entry strategies and successfully written business plans to source VC equity business angel funding.
