
Who do I work with and why?
I work with Managing Directors, Owners, Proprietors, Chief Executives and Partners across the full spectrum of small to medium size businesses and professional service practices in the UK. I also work with the Chief Executives of Trade Associations, Institutes, Professional bodies, Professional Councils, Associations and Federations. Typically client businesses-firms fall within the turnover range £500K to £50 million.
My business-coaching services singularly focuses on business Owners and Partners in Charge or Managing Directors because it is at this level that the decisions are taken which are at the very heart of the work I undertake with my clients; it is therefore only at this level that I add greatest value.
Were I to present an ideal client profile it would run something like this:

Are you up for the challenge of working with a coach?
My coaching is based on the application of rigorous systems, open discussion, reading at least 2 books a month that I will recommend and serious application on the matters in hand. It is not a walk in the park; but it is fun. There is usually a huge amount of work to be done over the first year as systems are put in place as new ways of managing are applied and as wholly new approaches to innovation and marketing come into play. As such you need to be up for all this and more.
Inevitably there is much to be done if transformatory results are to be attained, your commitment and application must be absolute; time management and the greater involvement of others on your team in high level matters will be an early stage issue we’ll address.
The way that I best ensure that I have fun and my coaching doesn’t become a dirge is to work with people whom I like and people that are open and receptive, enthusiastic for their cause and motivated to make a difference…. and most importantly, who are up for the challenge when the going gets tough. attitude is everything.
We need to work together for at least a year to really achieve desired results
I require clients to ideally commit to work with me for a one year period; a lower fee is set for those that do. Working together for less time is possible but certainly not recommended, especially given the ‘risk reversal’ guarantee that I offer. In reality only a minimum period of a year will best guarantee transformatory success at the level I know we can achieve given the time it takes to address matters and then let them bed in and given the many areas where typically we need to work.
Above all, you must be genuinely committed to your own success; if not we're all wasting our time. To this end I do not accept a new client unless I am reasonably confident that I can add a high degree of value to the relationship; and that there is a reasonably match with my ideal client profile.
